Four Hours at The Gables, Foxrock: October 2026

Four Hours at The Gables, Foxrock: October 2026

On most Saturdays‚ you'll find me sitting with my friends at the same table in The Gables in Foxrock. I’ve shared that story on my website, but today I want to tell you about something special that happened to Noema James at The Gables one Saturday, and it wasn't about the table.

When The Gables agreed to host our Autumn/Winter photoshoot, they let us use a room for four hours. That’s a long time for a restaurant to close off a busy space. For those four hours, the room was just for our photographer, creative director, makeup artist, two models, me (sometimes asking for extra shots), and a few clothing racks.

I didn't think a studio environment was appropriate for this project․ The idea is to show you the behind-the-scenes of Noema James. At The Gables, I discuss my ideas with my girlfriends and ask four different women how they would wear this or that. We discuss colours, femininity and tendencies I almost never follow. Noema James’s Coats and Jackets are designed for casual wear among acquaintances․

We took photographs in several indoor spots. Our favourites were the arched windows and mirrors, and the outdoor patio, using natural light. Two of my older daughters modelled in front of a sign outside The Gables on the street. These are some of my best photos from the year.

The Gables was named Restaurant Bar of the Year for 2025. Anyone who visits can tell you why. It’s not just the great food; the service is friendly and professional, especially in such a busy small-town spot.

We really get what makes this place special, iconic even. Every photo you’ll see of The Gables on our website and elsewhere this winter and spring, came from those four hours.

Thank you, The Gables. Thank you for giving us the space and time, for your patience with all of us, and for all the Saturdays before and after our event.

I'll be back at the table on Saturday. Noema
